Jazzi female

2008-06-11

Location: Michigan

Jazzi is a lively, funny pup. She is 6 months old and black as coal with a white chest. She is 11" tall but weighs only 8.5 pounds, as she is always running too fast for weight to catch up to her. Jazzi is trying to learn her manners, but is so excited with life that sometimes it's really hard to remember them. She's housetrained and crate trained, but is still a puppy who can get excited and forget so will need to be kept on a schedule. She loves people of all sizes and ages, but because she loves to jump, she'd be better off in a home without very small children. She gets along great with other dogs and cats; however, she does like to play with the cats, even when they don?t want to play with her! Once the cats give her a little cuff, she?s off to explore new adventures. Jazzi will fit in well with any family that understands that puppies need guidelines and gentleness, and have tons of energy. She'd do best with a fenced yard, since she needs to run and play. She loves to chase her squeaky ball and learns quickly, so would likely do great learning fly ball and/or agility.

Checkers female

2007-06-11

Location: New York

Checkers is the smallest pup from her litter, which was rescued from a Georgia shelter. She is very sweet and loving and loves to go outside and to be right with you, wherever you go. Now, in early June, she is believed to be 15 weeks old and weighs about 9 lbs. She is expected to be about 20 lbs. when full grown. Like most puppies, Checkers will jump up on you for love and attention, but she is not as bouncy as her siblings and is learning better manners, so her fostermom thinks she would be ok with small children. She gets along great with other dogs but, probably because of being the smallest, learned that she had to guard her food so she will growl and "attack" other dogs if they try to get in her food bowl, so she does need monitoring and training. Checkers is about 80% housetrained, and will soon master this. She is inquisitive and very active, just like any healthy puppy. For more pictures of Checkers and her family, click here.

Tempo male

2008-05-31

Adopted!

Location: Florida

Tempo's mama is a Teddy Rat Terrier, and his papa was probably an Australian Cattle Dog. Right now he weighs about 11 pounds and his ears are still "undecided." Tempo will be 15 weeks old on June 1 (2008). He has almost finished his series of puppy shots. Little Tempo is very good with the other dogs and with his kitty house-mates. He hasn't been around kids much, so he is still a bit shy in that department. Tempo is doing very well with his housebreaking, and is crate trained for overnight. Morgandy female

2008-06-11

Location: Georgia

Morgandy was rescued from a crowded kill shelter near the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia when her time was almost up. She is a tiny, 10-lb. mini Rat Terrier between 1-2 years old, with a happy personality. This delicate little girl is friendly to people, other dogs, and cats. She has never met a stranger. Morgandy has lots of energy. She loves chasing squirrels in the yard and going for long walks but also cuddling with her foster parents. She is crate trained and learning to walk on a leash. She does have accidents in the house sometimes but is working hard to fix that. She comes quickly when her foster mom calls her even if she's ?busy? with something else. Morgandy loves toys and playing with her foster siblings. She will walk around on her hind legs like a ballerina for treats! Morgandy would very much like to have a forever family of her own! Button male

2008-06-26

Location: Florida

"I know! I know! I don't look anything like a Rat Terrier. But my Mom is a purebred, and she says it's what's inside that counts!" Button was born January 25, 2008. His mother (Mystie) was dumped — pregnant and heartworm positive — at a shelter in Texas. She delivered her babies just hours after being taken to a foster home. Button had 4 siblings, but only 3 of the puppies survived (Button, Doc & Ringo). Button's daddy was no doubt a Dachshund. Button weighs 11 pounds. He's crate trained and housebroken with a doggie door. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home, and stops chasing the kitty when he's told to.
